Beacon-Sky Shadow Obelisk CD
Going deeper into the Sky Shadow Obelisk sound, Peter Scartabello weaves a sonic tapestry both complex and dynamic. Beacon marks the first full-length album in the SSO oeuvre. The expanded scope of the album’s sound represents influences from the metal genre as well as 70s progressive rock and modern classical. The album is a conceptual album- part fantasy, part science fiction.
A neutron star has been ensnared by the great wizard Xatuurynth; the reason unknown by his young apprentice Lasentuur. In trying to uncover the secret of Xatuurynth’s powerful binding spell the apprentice becomes bound to the star and the fate of all mankind. The literary content is once again allegorical and deals with humanity's shortsightedness and disregard for its place in nature.
